“Girls just wanna have fun,” right? Well kidpreneurs Madison Star and Mallory Iyana are having a blast after founding Angels and Tomboys®—a body care line of uniquely scented lotions and body spray for tween and teen girls. In today’s world we celebrate Girl Power, and the mission of Angels and Tomboys® is to empower young girls and boost their confidence with Angels and Tomboys® fun and feel good scents, ranging from Peanut Butter Jelly Time to Candy Star Glam to Rockin’ Blueberry!

When girls pop open their Angels and Tomboys® product, they not only smell good but, you'll feel good too. Star & Iyana created Angels and Tomboys® so that girls can have a product made just for them. After growing tired of (sneaking) and wearing their mom's boring perfume which is too grown up by way of being too flowery, too expensive and way too strong; Angels and Tomboys® fragrance is just right.

Their paraben free, patent pending, vegan friendly formula contains several great vitamins to preserve young skin. It's a must-have for EVERY girl and every parent can feel good about it. Our fun and unique scents encourage you to be proud, be bold and be you. Love being a girl...because all girls are created equally different.

Q: How old were you when you started Angels and Tomboys?

Madison: We were 7 and 9 years old when we came up with the idea.

Q: What gave you the idea to create Angels and Tomboys and turn it into a business?

Madison: We got tired of wearing our mom’s perfume because it was too strong. Her favorite store is Victoria’s Secret and we didn’t like going in there, so we decided to make one just for us.

Mallory: We came up with different smells that we like and that we think our friends will like. One of my favorites is Frozen Hot Chocolate. I thought ok-I like ice cream and I like hot chocolate, so Frozen Hot Chocolate.

Q: What has been your biggest challenge in getting started and how have you overcome it?

Madison: Money was the biggest challenge. We pulled from our savings and our mom chipped in. We held fundraising parties and launched online Kickstarter campaigns.

Q: Are your parents entrepreneurs? What have they taught you about running a business?

Mallory: Yes my mom is an entrepreneur. My mom teaches me to stay organized and focus on what I want to do with my business. She tells me to have fun.

Q: What advice would you give other young Kidpreneurs who want to start their own business like you did?

Madison: Find something that you like that’s fun. I always have fun coming up with different smells and ideas for Angels and Tomboys. Ask for help and don’t think anything is a bad idea.

Q: What do you think of the Kidpreneurs book and concept and how it can help other Kidpreneurs learn the basic principles of Entrepreneurship?

Mallory: I think it’s a good idea. When we started we asked our mom to help is out and she asked some of our family to help us. Sometimes I understand what they’re saying and sometimes they have to stop and tell me what they’re talking about.

Madison: I think it can help other kidpreneurs learn because right now when I have a question, I ask my mom, but with the book I might not have to ask so many. And, I like to learn. I want to be creative and know exactly what the business part is too.

Q: What are your plans for your business? Will you be expanding your product offering?

Madison: We are planning to go to ten cities to introduce Angels and Tomboys. After the tour we plan to have our lotions and body sprays in Target. Right now, people can buy our products at AngelsandTomboys.com.

Q: Everyone has a different definition of success, and yours might change over time, but what would you say is your personal definition of success right now?

Madison: The fact that people like our products is my definition of success right now. One day, I want to see it in the mall and I want us to have our own store.

Mallory: Seeing other people use our products and that it makes them happy is success. I want to come up with more scents as we grow.
